Rock & Artificial Wall Climbing Spots in Nepal
Nagarjun Hill Nagarjun Forest ReserveNagarjun hill also known as the "Jamacho" is the forested hill which lies to the northwest of the Swyambhunath Stupa. The climbing cliff here is located inside the Forest and is suitable for both beginners and regulars. The limestone face is about 12 meters high, and there are several piton-equipped routes. To get there, take a taxi to Balaju (3 km from downtown Kathmandu) and then walk to the park entrance. From the gate, follow the dirt road to a point just before the Nepal Army check post where you will come across a track leading to the right. Follow this trail through trees and shrubs for about five minutes, and there's the cliff.
Shivapuri Hill Shivapuri Watershed& Wildlife Reserve
Shivapuri hill situated to the north of Kathmandu has an interesting rock wall. From Budhanilakantha, the shrine of sleeping Vishnu, walking towards Shivapuri Watershed& Wildlife Reserve , you can see the cliff from the distance.

he Pasang Lhamu Mountaineering Foundation introduces the Sports Climbing Center and its international standard sport-climbing wall. The Sport Climbing Center aims to promote sport climbing in Nepal to the general public and to train aspiring Nepali Mountaineers in advanced techniques. Following Pasang Lhamu's dream of working for the empowerment of Nepalese women and to highlight their role in mountaineering, we especially encourage Nepalese women to participate and enjoy the numerous benefits of sport climbing.
The climbing wall is a simulated rock formation, which is used for learning and for practicing sport climbing techniques. The climbing wall is a 10-meter high and 10-meter wide wall, which is affixed with numerous hand and foot holds. The holds are designed to look and feel like natural rock formation and are arranged in patterns called "routes". You climb the wall safely using ropes harnesses and protection devices. You then control your rate of descent while suspended by a safety line controlled by your climbing partner or an instructor. The climbing wall is a safe and fun venue for beginners to learn to sport climb and for experienced climbers to practice their skills on our diverse routes, which have up to a 70-degree overhang.
Artificial Climbing Wall Kakani
With financial assistance from the Embassy of French Republic, a climbing wall, 15m height, was built at International Mountaineers Memorial Park (IMMP) which spreads on 144 ropanies of land in Kakani. Mr. Henry Sigaret, French volunteer played a vital role in the construction of the wall. The climbing wall was hand over officially by His Excellency French Ambassador Michel Jolivet to Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) on 28 Jan 2006, Saturday.
The wall stands with four facings, one dihedron, ridges and a small chimney. The wall is basically being used for vocational and technical training of the Nepalese guides. Hattiban Hill Dakshinkali
Hattiban outdoor climbing site is 26 Km far from Kathmandu City on the way to Dakshinkali. It is just 20 minute walk from the Road and there are more then 10 routes. The climbing grades are start from 6a to 7a, this place is very good in winter because as it faces south and sunlight is all the day with you. Spring and summer season will be very hot.
There are several cliffs outside the valley where you can experience the spine tingling sport of rock climbing.
Siddha Cliff Bimal Nagar Tanahu
Bimal Nagar climbing site is situated in 140 km the south west from Kathmandu . There are only few fixed route where you can go climbing it is 55m natural rock climbing and four pitches and some single pitch it is just 5 minutes from the road.
IMM Climbing Wall Pokhara
The IMM museum spreads on 100 ropanies land and is located at Rato Pairo, Ghari Patan in Pokhara. The artificial wall at the south eastern part of the International Mountain Museum (IMM) has been named as Maurice Herzog and Louis Lachenal climbing wall; Maurice Herzog and Louis Lachenal made the first successful ascent to Mt. Annapurna (8091m) in 1950 after the opening of the Nepal Himalayas.
The artificial climbing wall in IMM is 21m 40 cm in height and covers an area of 196 sq m. The wall has been used for holding major national and international level competitions at present.

This village is very famous among the climbers because both of world record holder Everest climbers are born in this village. In this rock climbing site here have more than 17 different routes which are starting from 4c to 7c multi pitch 200m height.
Outdoor rock climbing spots in Jomsom Mustang, Langtang Rasuwa, Thaknok Hinko Valley and Chewang Solu is also a challenge for the cliff hangers
