Postal Services
The General Post Office, operated by government of Nepal is located near Dharahara Tower, is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday through Friday. The counters are open from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. and provide stamps, postcards and aero grams. Poste restante service is available Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM in Central Post Office.
Express Mail Service (EMS) is available at GPO and at Thamel, Basantapur and airport postal counters.

There are various Domestic and International courier companies like Aircone, Indo Nepal Courier Service, Nepa Agency & Company (P) Ltd, DHL, UPS, FEDEX, TNT Express Worldwide, Sky Net, Blue dart in Nepal are providing courier services with in Nepal & world wide.
Telephone Services
Telephone, telex ( at present telex has been replaced by fax ) , fax, and telegraph services are available at the Nepal Telecommunications Corporation at Tripureshwar. Hotels and private communications centers all over Nepal provide these kind of communication facilities. For calling from outside, country code for Nepal is 977 and the area code for Kathmandu is 1.
Various kind of telephone services like Basic Telephone Services, PSTN ( Public Switched Telephone Network ), ISDN ( Integrated Services Digital Network ) and Mobile services like, Post-Paid Mobile Service, Pre-Paid Mobile Service, C-PHONE and Sky Phone services (CDMA) is available at present.

Internet Service Providers & services
The Internet Service Providers' Association of Nepal (ISPAN) is a nonprofit organization committed to advocate and support a healthy Internet industry in the country. ISPAN believes an open, competitive marketplace for Internet access and services benefits the Internet service industry and the people it serves.

Several Internet cafes and communication centers have opened up in the Kathmandu valley and around the country in the past few years. Visitors only have to find a place they are most comfortable in to use the facilities to keep in touch with home. E-mail and Internet services are also offered by hotels.

Radio Stations
Radio Nepal
Radio Nepal was established on the 20th of Chaitra 2007 B. S. (01 April 1951). Radio Nepal airs programmes on Short Wave as well as Medium Wave frequencies. Radio Nepal transmits 15 hours everyday , which includes 2 hours of regional broadcasts 0930 hrs to 1100 hrs in the morning and 1805hrs 1830 hrs in the evening.

MW - 576 kHz, 648 kHz, 684 kHz, 792 kHz, 810 kHz & 1143 kHz
SW - 3230 kHz / 7165 kHz, 5005 kHz, FM - 103 MHz

Nepal has approximately 90 FM stations in operation and more likely to come in near future.

Television
Nepal Television is the oldest and most watched television channel in Nepal. Nepal Television was for many years the only television channel native to Nepal, but several others have begun operation in recent years.
Other important TV channels in Nepal are NTV 2 Metro, which is owned by the Nepalese government. Private channels include Kantipur Television, Image Channel, Channel Nepal, Avenues TV, Nepal 1 television, Terai Television, ABC Television and Sagarmatha Television. Nepal 1 is being broadcast from India. All except Nepal Television, Kantipur Television, Image Television and NTV 2 Metro are pay channels in Kathmandu valley.
